What’s new in PodEditor

PodEditor’s first beta is here. It is a complete editor for spoken-word audio, so you can take an episode from raw recordings to a finished MP3 without leaving it:

• Record or import. Record straight onto a track, or bring in audio files. A two-channel file with one speaker per side can be split into two tracks.
• Edit on a multitrack timeline. Split, trim, ripple delete, nudge, join and group clips, with snapping. Edits never change your original audio files.
• Level and duck. Auto Level evens out speakers. A duck lowers a stretch of audio, ramping down and back up, with handles you can drag.
• Add chapters. Chapter markers are written into the exported MP3.
• Export. MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, AIFF and FLAC, with loudness normalization and a limiter, or one lossless file per track for a mixing service such as Auphonic.
• Audio Unit effects. Add effects to any track.
• Bring your Hindenburg sessions. Import .nhsx sessions.
• Recovery. PodEditor keeps recovery snapshots, so a crash costs you very little.

The App Store version includes a 14-day free trial. Exporting and recording need an active trial or subscription. Opening, playing and saving projects are always free.
